WV355
- Items with status 'C' cannot be deleted ?The SAP error message WV355 indicates that you are trying to delete items that have a status of 'C' (which typically means "Completed" or "Closed") in the context of a specific process, such as a sales order, purchase order, or production order. This status indicates that the item has been finalized and cannot be deleted due to business rules or system constraints.
Cause:
- Status 'C': The item you are trying to delete has been marked as completed or closed, which prevents any further modifications, including deletion.
- Business Logic: SAP enforces certain business rules to maintain data integrity. Completed items are often linked to financial transactions, inventory records, or other processes that should not be altered.
- Dependencies: The item may have dependencies or linked documents that require it to remain in the system.
Solution:
- Change Status: If appropriate, you may need to change the status of the item from 'C' to a status that allows deletion. This may involve reversing or canceling related transactions.
- Consult with Business Process Owner: Before attempting to change the status or delete the item, consult with the relevant business process owner or team to ensure that it is acceptable to do so.
- Use Alternative Methods: Instead of deleting the item, consider marking it as inactive or using other methods to handle it within the system.
- Check for Related Documents: Investigate if there are any related documents or transactions that are preventing the deletion. You may need to address those first.
- SAP Notes and Documentation: Check SAP Notes or documentation for any specific guidance related to the error message WV355, as there may be additional context or updates provided by SAP.
