Smart SAP Assistant

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message WTADDI427 - Enter plant, customer or class ?

    SAP Error Message:
    WTADDI427Enter plant, customer or class

    Cause:

This error occurs in SAP when you are trying to create or maintain a warehouse task or related warehouse document, and the system requires you to specify at least one of the following key fields:

    • Plant
    • Customer
    • Class

The system cannot proceed because none of these mandatory fields have been entered. This is typically encountered in Warehouse Management (WM) or Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) processes where the system needs to know the context of the warehouse task, such as the plant from which goods are moved, the customer involved, or the classification of the material or task.

    When does it occur?

    • During creation or processing of warehouse tasks or warehouse orders.
    • When the system expects a reference to a plant, customer, or classification but these fields are left blank.
    • Possibly during inbound or outbound delivery processing in WM/EWM.
    • When customizing or master data is incomplete or missing.

    Solution:

    1. Enter the required field(s):

      • Make sure to enter the Plant if the warehouse task is related to a specific plant.
      • If the task involves a customer (e.g., for outbound deliveries), enter the Customer.
      • If classification is relevant (e.g., material class or warehouse task class), enter the Class.
    2. Check the transaction or screen:

      • Identify where the system expects these fields and ensure they are filled in correctly.
    3. Verify master data:

      • Ensure that the material master, customer master, and plant data are correctly maintained and linked.
      • Check if the warehouse number is assigned to the correct plant.
    4. Review configuration:

      • In some cases, the system configuration might require these fields to be mandatory.
      • Check the warehouse management customizing to see if the system expects these fields for the process you are executing.
    5. Check user input and process flow:

      • Sometimes, the error arises because the process flow is incomplete or incorrect.
      • Follow the correct sequence of steps in warehouse task creation or delivery processing.

    Additional Information:

    • Message Class: WTADDI (Warehouse Task Additional Information)
    • This message is informational and prompts the user to provide necessary data to proceed.
    • If you are unsure which field to enter, consult your warehouse or logistics process owner.
    • In some cases, this error can be linked to missing or incorrect data in delivery documents or warehouse orders.

    Example:

If you are creating a warehouse task for picking goods for an outbound delivery, and you do not specify the plant or customer, the system will prompt with WTADDI427 to remind you to enter at least one of these fields.
