    • The plant is not assigned to the valuation area in the system.
    • The material master data is incomplete or inconsistent for the valuation type or valuation area.
    • The accounting or valuation views in the material master are not properly maintained.
    • The plant is not set up for valuation in the IMG (Implementation Guide) settings.

    Solution:

    To resolve the error, follow these steps:

    1. Check Plant Assignment to Valuation Area:

      • Go to transaction OMWB or OX09.
      • Verify that the plant (&1) is assigned to the correct valuation area.
      • If not assigned, assign the plant to the valuation area.
    2. Verify Material Master Data:

      • Use transaction MM02 to check the material master.
      • Ensure that the Accounting 1 and Accounting 2 views are maintained for the plant.
      • Check that the valuation class and price control are correctly set.
    3. Check Valuation Settings:

      • In SPRO, navigate to: Materials Management -> Valuation and Account Assignment -> Valuation -> Define Valuation Areas
      • Confirm that the plant is defined as a valuation area or assigned to one.
    4. Check for Missing Valuation Data:

      • Sometimes, valuation data needs to be created manually for the plant.
      • Use transaction MM01 or MM02 to create or update valuation data for the plant.
    5. Review Authorizations:

      • Ensure the user has the necessary authorizations to create or change valuation data.
    6. Run Consistency Checks:

      • Use transaction MR22 (Price Change) or MR21 (Price Change) to check if valuation data can be updated.
      • Run report RMMVAL00 to check valuation data consistency.
