  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

You tried to change the profit center for plant &V1&. A material with
plant-specific data is already defined in this plant.

    System Response

The system issues a warning message because existing documents may not
be adjusted as a result of your change.

    How to fix this error?

Check whether the profit center is recorded in the plant-specific data
of the material master and whether the documents are posted in inventory
management based on this value. When you change the profit center, the
system does not change the profit center in the plant master in
documents. Therefore, if you change the profit center, make sure you
subsequently change the profit center to the same value in all materials
    for the plant.

    Procedure for System Administrators

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message WRMA_FI013 - Material &2 already exists for plant &1 ?

    The SAP error message:

WRMA_FI013: Material &2 already exists for plant &1

    Cause:

This error occurs when you try to create or assign a material to a plant, but the material number you are trying to use already exists for that particular plant in the system. In other words, the system detects a duplicate material record for the same plant.

    This typically happens during:

    • Material master creation (MM01) or extension (MM02) to a plant.
    • Upload or data migration where material-plant combinations are being created.
    • When trying to create a new material with a material number that is already assigned to the same plant.

    Explanation:

    • In SAP, a material can be extended to multiple plants, but the combination of material number and plant must be unique.
    • The system prevents duplicate entries to maintain data integrity.

    Solution:

    1. Check if the material already exists for the plant:

      • Use transaction MM03 (Display Material) and enter the material number.
      • Check if the material is already extended to the plant in question.
    2. If the material exists:

      • You do not need to create it again for the same plant.
      • If you want to change or update data, use MM02 (Change Material).
    3. If you intended to create a new material:

      • Use a different material number that is not already assigned to the plant.
    4. If this error occurs during data upload or migration:

      • Check your source data for duplicates.
      • Remove or correct duplicate entries before uploading.
    5. If you suspect a system inconsistency:

      • Run consistency checks or consult with your SAP Basis or MM consultant.
      • Check for any custom enhancements or user exits that might be causing duplicate creation attempts.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes:

      • MM01 – Create Material
      • MM02 – Change Material
      • MM03 – Display Material
      • MM17 – Mass Maintenance of Materials
    • Tables involved:

      • MARA – General Material Data
      • MARC – Plant Data for Material (material-plant combination)
    • Notes:

      • Always ensure material numbers are unique per plant.
      • Use proper material numbering conventions to avoid conflicts.
      • During data migration, validate data thoroughly before import.

If you provide more context (e.g., transaction used, process step), I can help with more specific guidance.
