SAP Error Message - Details

  • Message type: E = Error

  • Message class: WRF_PPW - Price Planning Workbench

  • Message number: 759

  • Message text: Conditions for price plan &1 were not created due to budget type switch

  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

You have tried to change the budget type during condition creation. This
    is not permitted.
You have not created the conditions for price plan &V1& in time, so the
validity start date of the conditions is now already in the past.
Therefore, when creating conditions, the system needs to adjust both the
start date of the price plan header and the start of validity of the
    conditions involved.
When adjusting the start date of the price plan header, the system found
that another budget type is valid for the new date. This means it is
doubtful whether the materials in the price plan can still be used for
    the new budget type.

    System Response

    The system has cancelled processing.

    How to fix this error?

If it is a manual price plan, you can copy the it to a new start date.
This will cause all material items to be migrated to the new budget type
where possible. You can then delete the old price plan.
If it is a markdown price plan, proceed as follows:
Set the status of the price plan back to "In process".
    Delete all material items.
Change the start date of the price plan header.
    Save the price plan.
Enrich the deleted materials using the enrichment report using the new
start date of your price plan as the validity start date.
Restart the Price Planning Workbench and select the new enriched
    materials.
You can now copy these materials back to the price plan and start the
    release process.

    Procedure for System Administrators

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message WRF_PPW759 - Conditions for price plan &1 were not created due to budget type switch ?

Certainly! Here's a detailed explanation for the SAP error message:

    SAP Error Message:

WRF_PPW759: Conditions for price plan &1 were not created due to budget type switch

    Cause:

This error occurs during the creation or processing of price plans in SAP, specifically when working with budget types in the Funds Management (FM) or Controlling (CO) modules integrated with Pricing or Revenue Recognition.

    • The system tries to create condition records for a price plan (identified by &1, which is a placeholder for the actual price plan number).
    • However, the creation fails because there is a budget type switch that prevents the conditions from being created.
    • The "budget type switch" refers to a configuration or master data setting that controls whether budget-related conditions can be created or updated for a particular budget type.
    • This switch might be set to disallow condition creation for certain budget types, or there might be a mismatch between the budget type assigned to the price plan and the allowed budget types for condition creation.

Typical Scenarios Leading to This Error:

    • The price plan is linked to a budget type that is not allowed for condition creation.
    • Budget type settings in Funds Management or Controlling have been changed or incorrectly maintained.
    • The integration between Pricing and Budget Management is not properly configured.
    • The user tries to create or update price plan conditions for a budget type that is inactive or restricted.

    Solution:

    1. Check Budget Type Settings:

      • Go to the configuration for budget types in Funds Management (transaction code FMZ1 or relevant customizing path).
      • Verify the settings for the budget type assigned to the price plan.
      • Ensure that the budget type allows condition creation or updates.
    2. Review Price Plan and Condition Records:

      • Check the price plan &1 to confirm which budget type it is assigned to.
      • Verify if the budget type matches the allowed types for condition creation.
    3. Adjust Budget Type Switch:

      • If the budget type switch is set to disallow condition creation, change it to allow it, if business rules permit.
      • This might involve customizing in Funds Management or Controlling.
    4. Check Integration Settings:

      • Verify the integration settings between Pricing and Budget Management.
      • Ensure that the system is correctly configured to handle budget types in price plans.
    5. Consult SAP Notes:

      • Search for SAP Notes related to WRF_PPW759 for any patches or known issues.
      • Sometimes, SAP releases notes with corrections or additional instructions.
    6. Testing:

      • After adjustments, test the creation of conditions for the price plan again.
      • Ensure that the error no longer occurs.
