WRF_ASORT012
- Enter an external number range for assortments ?SAP Error Message:
WRF_ASORT012 - Enter an external number range for assortments
Cause:
This error occurs when you are trying to create or process an assortment in SAP, and the system expects you to enter an external number for the assortment, but none was provided. The assortment number range is configured to require external numbering, meaning the user must manually enter the assortment number rather than having the system generate it automatically.
Explanation:
In SAP, number ranges can be set up as internal (system-generated) or external (user-entered). For assortments, if the number range interval is set to external, the system expects the user to input the assortment number manually. If the user leaves this field blank or tries to proceed without entering a number, the system throws the WRF_ASORT012 error.
Solution:
Enter an external assortment number manually:
When creating or editing an assortment, ensure you enter a valid assortment number in the assortment number field.Check number range configuration:
If you want the system to generate the assortment number automatically, change the number range interval from external to internal. This is done in the customizing settings.
- Transaction code: SNRO (Number Range Objects) or via IMG path:
SPRO -> Logistics Execution -> Assortments -> Define Number Ranges for Assortments
- Find the number range object related to assortments (e.g.,
WRF_ASORT
) and check if the number range interval is set to external or internal.- If external numbering is not required, create or assign an internal number range interval.
Verify user input:
Make sure the user entering the assortment number is aware that the number must be entered manually if the number range is external.
