What causes this issue?

The system cannot find a number range to check against an external
number range.

System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

How to fix this error?

In Customizing, enter an external number range for assortments. If you
only want an internal number assignment, you must leave the input field
in initial status when you create the assortment.
