  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

No valuation price could be determined for the creation of valuation
data while creating the required article master segments in POS inbound
processing for non-listed article <(>&<)>1 and site <(>&<)>2.
The valuation price is determined from the source of supply indicator of
the article in the newly created logistic data for the site, which is
determined from the reference site data. If the source of supply is
internal, the valuation price from the supplying site is copied. If the
source of supply is external, or if no valuation price could be
determined from the supplying site, the net price from the purchasing
info record of the supplier is taken as the valuation price.
    BAdI BADI_DATA_FOR_ARTICLE_CREATION, method DETERMINE_VALUATION_PRICE
allows the determination of a customer-specific valuation price, the
validation/adjustment of the valuation price determined using standard
logic, and the determination of a valuation price if none could be
    determined using the standard logic.

    System Response

Article master segments are created and POS inbound processing continues
for the non-listed article. The valuation price is copied from reference
handling but might not be suitable for the article and site.

    How to fix this error?

Check the valuation price for the article and site and adjust it if
    required (transaction MR21).
If the required information for valuation price determination is not
available or not suitable, you can implement BAdI
    BADI_DATA_FOR_ARTICLE_CREATION, method DETERMINE_VALUATION_PRICE to
define your own valuation price determination or for checking/adjusting
    the determined evaluation price.

    Procedure for System Administrators

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message WPOS_INBOUND_NO_LIST002 - No valuation price determined for creation of MBEW for art. &1 site &2 ?

Certainly! Here's a detailed explanation for the SAP error message:

    SAP Error Message:

    WPOS_INBOUND_NO_LIST002
Text: No valuation price determined for creation of MBEW for art. &1 site &2

    Meaning / Cause:

This error occurs during the inbound processing of a material master or inventory document (often in scenarios involving IDocs, EDI, or batch input sessions) when the system tries to create or update the MBEW table (which stores material valuation data) but cannot find a valid valuation price for the material (&1) at the plant (&2).

    Key points:

    • The system requires a valuation price to create or update the material valuation record.
    • The valuation price is missing or not determined for the specified material and plant.
    • This can happen if the material master is incomplete, or if the valuation data is missing or inconsistent.
    • It may also occur if the valuation class or price control indicator is not properly maintained.

    Common Causes:

    1. Missing or incomplete valuation data in the material master for the specified plant.
    2. Price control indicator (VPRSV) in the material master is set to 'S' (Standard price) but no standard price is maintained.
    3. Valuation class not assigned or incorrect.
    4. The material is set for valuation at plant level, but no price is maintained for that plant.
    5. The inbound process (e.g., IDoc or batch input) does not provide or cannot determine the valuation price.
    6. Customizing or master data inconsistencies in valuation areas or price determination.

    Solution / How to Fix:

    1. Check Material Master Data:

      • Go to transaction MM03 (Display Material Master).
      • Check the Accounting 1 and Accounting 2 views for the material &1 at plant &2.
      • Verify that the Price Control indicator is set correctly (S = Standard price, V = Moving average price).
      • Ensure that a valid Standard Price or Moving Average Price is maintained.
    2. Maintain Valuation Price:

      • If price control is 'S', maintain the standard price in MM02 or via transaction MR21 (Price Change).
      • If price control is 'V', ensure that the moving average price is correctly updated.
    3. Check Valuation Class:

      • Ensure that the valuation class is assigned and valid for the material and plant.
    4. Check Customizing:

      • Verify that the valuation area (plant) is properly configured.
      • Check if the price determination procedure is correctly set up.
    5. Inbound Process:

      • If this error occurs during IDoc processing (e.g., MATMAS inbound), check the IDoc data for completeness.
      • Ensure that the inbound data contains valuation price or that the system can determine it from master data.
    6. Reprocess the Inbound Document:

      • After correcting the master data, reprocess the inbound document or transaction.

    Additional Information:

    • MBEW Table: Stores valuation data for materials at plant level.
    • Price Control Indicator: Determines how the material is valuated (Standard price or Moving average price).
    • Transaction Codes:
      • MM02 - Change Material Master
      • MM03 - Display Material Master
      • MR21 - Price Change
      • CK11N - Costing (to check or update prices)
    • IDoc Types: MATMAS inbound IDocs often carry valuation data; missing or incorrect data can cause this error.

    Summary:

The error "No valuation price determined for creation of MBEW" means the system cannot find a valuation price for the material at the specified plant, preventing creation or update of valuation data. The fix involves ensuring that the material master has correct valuation data (price control and price) maintained for the plant.
