WM713
- Materials selected are flagged for discontinuation ?The SAP error message WM713 ("Materials selected are flagged for discontinuation") typically occurs in the Warehouse Management (WM) module when you attempt to process materials that have been marked for discontinuation in the system. This means that the materials are no longer available for use in transactions, which can affect inventory management, picking, and other warehouse operations.
Cause:
- Discontinuation Flag: The materials in question have been flagged for discontinuation in the material master data. This flag indicates that the material is no longer available for procurement or sales.
- Material Status: The material may have a status that restricts its use, such as being marked as obsolete or inactive.
- Configuration Settings: There may be specific settings in the system that prevent the use of discontinued materials in certain transactions.
Solution:
Check Material Master Data:
- Go to the material master record (transaction code
MM03
).- Check the "Basic Data" and "Sales" views to see if the material is flagged for discontinuation.
- If the material should still be in use, you may need to remove the discontinuation flag.
Update Material Status:
- If the material is indeed discontinued, consider whether it should be replaced with a new material or if there are alternative materials available for use.
- If the discontinuation was an error, you can change the status back to active.
Consult with Stakeholders:
- Discuss with relevant departments (e.g., procurement, sales, or production) to understand the implications of the discontinuation and whether any actions need to be taken regarding inventory or future orders.
Review Configuration:
- If the issue persists, review the configuration settings in the WM module to ensure that they align with your business processes and do not inadvertently restrict the use of materials.
Documentation and Training:
- Ensure that users are aware of the implications of marking materials for discontinuation and provide training on how to handle such materials in the system.
