Message text: Error transferring data when calculating forecast requirements
When calculating the forecast requirements for replenishment, the date
intervals for calculating the forecast quantities from the beginning of
planning to the end of the first or the beginning of the second time
interval were transferred incorrectly so that the system could not
calculate a result.
The system does not calculate a forecast requirement.
Adjust the master data so that the time intervals for the forecast
requirements are valid. If replenishment is to be used you also need to
maintain the data for calculating the replenishment lead time and check
the target range of coverage in the master data.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

Cause
The error WFCS111 usually indicates a problem in the data transfer or communication between different components or modules involved in the forecast calculation process. Common causes include:
Data Inconsistency or Missing Data
- The forecast calculation process expects certain master data or transactional data (e.g., product master, planning versions, historical data) which might be incomplete, inconsistent, or missing.
Authorization Issues
- The user or background job executing the forecast calculation may lack the necessary authorizations to read or write required data.
Interface or Communication Problems
- If the forecast calculation involves data transfer between systems (e.g., between SAP ERP and SAP APO), communication errors or interface failures (e.g., CIF errors) can cause this message.
Incorrect or Incomplete Configuration
- Forecasting settings, planning versions, or transfer rules may be incorrectly configured.
Technical Issues
- Problems with the underlying database, transport layers, or system buffers.
Solution
To resolve the WFCS111 error, consider the following steps:
Check the Detailed Error Log
- Look at the application log (transaction SLG1) or job logs to get more detailed information about the error context.
Verify Master and Transaction Data
- Ensure that all relevant master data (materials, planning versions, forecasting profiles) and historical data are complete and consistent.
Check Authorizations
- Verify that the user or job has the necessary authorizations for forecast calculation and data transfer.
Review Configuration Settings
- Check the forecast calculation settings, planning versions, and transfer rules in customizing (SPRO) or relevant transaction codes.
Check Interfaces and Communication
- If the process involves data transfer between systems (e.g., SAP ERP to APO), check the CIF queues (transaction CIFMON), ALE/IDoc status, and ensure that the communication is working properly.
Re-run the Forecast Calculation
- After correcting any issues, re-execute the forecast calculation.
Apply SAP Notes
