What causes this issue?

You have specified a check algorithm, but you have selected the field
for alphanumeric EANs. If a check digit algorithm is predefined, the
EAN category may contain numeric EANs only. You are not, therefore,
allowed to select the field for alphanumeric EANs.

System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
