  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

The system has tried to access the
    <DS:GLOS.3526B523AFAB52B9E10000009B38F974>number range interval</>
&V1&. However, it does not exist. This is probably because a
nonexistent number range interval has been assigned to an EAN category
    in Customizing.
This error can also occur if you have specified an EAN that is assigned
to an existing number range, but the number range has been entered
    incorrectly in Customizing.

    System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

    How to fix this error?

Ask your system administrator to correct the error.

    Procedure for System Administrators

    You have the following options:
Create the required interval in Customizing for the <LS>Material
Master</> in the activity <DS:SIMG.SIMG_CFMENUOLMSW4EN>Define number
    ranges for EANs/UPCs</>.
Make sure that all EAN categories are defined only for existing number
    ranges.
Make sure that internal number ranges have not been entered as external
number ranges, and vice versa, in Customizing for the <LS>Material
    Master</> in the activity <DS:SIMG.SIMG_CFMENUOLMSW4ES>Define
    attributes of EANs/UPCs</>.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message WE109 - The interval & was not found ?

    SAP Error Message:
WE109 - The interval & was not found

    Cause:

The error message WE109 typically occurs in the context of IDoc processing or configuration, especially when dealing with number ranges or intervals for IDoc segments or message types.

    • The system is trying to find a specific interval (number range interval) for a particular object (e.g., IDoc number range, segment number range, or message type interval), but it cannot find it.
    • This usually means that the number range interval for the object has not been defined or is missing in the system.
    • It can also happen if the number range interval has been deleted or not properly maintained.

    When does it occur?

    • During IDoc creation or processing, when the system tries to assign a number from a number range interval that does not exist.
    • When generating or processing IDoc segments or message types that rely on predefined intervals.
    • When customizing or configuring IDoc number ranges or related intervals.

    Solution:

    1. Check Number Range Intervals:

      • Go to the relevant number range maintenance transaction depending on the object:
        • For IDoc number ranges: Use transaction WE30 (IDoc Type Development) or WE31 (Segment Editor) to check if the number ranges are properly maintained.
        • For message type intervals or other related intervals, use SNRO (Number Range Objects) to check if the number range intervals exist and are valid.
    2. Maintain Number Range Intervals:

      • If the interval is missing, create a new number range interval for the relevant object.
      • Ensure the intervals cover the required range and are active.
    3. Check Customizing:

      • Verify the configuration in WE20 (Partner Profiles) and WE21 (Port Definition) to ensure that the message types and ports are correctly assigned and that the number ranges are properly linked.
    4. Transport and System Consistency:

      • If the error occurs after a transport or system copy, verify that the number range intervals have been transported correctly.
      • Sometimes, number ranges are client-specific and need to be maintained in each client.
    5. Debugging:

      • If the problem persists, debugging the IDoc creation or processing function modules (e.g., MASTER_IDOC_DISTRIBUTE) can help identify exactly which interval is missing.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes:

      • SNRO - Number Range Objects maintenance
      • WE30 - IDoc Type Development
      • WE31 - Segment Editor
      • WE20 - Partner Profiles
      • WE21 - Port Definition
    • SAP Notes:

      • Check SAP Notes related to IDoc number range issues if the problem is complex or related to a specific SAP release.
    • IDoc Number Ranges:

      • IDoc numbers are assigned from number ranges defined in the system.
      • Missing or incorrect number range intervals can cause errors during IDoc creation or processing.

    Summary:

    Aspect Details
Cause Missing or undefined number range interval for IDoc or related object.
Solution Maintain the required number range intervals using SNRO or relevant transactions. Verify configuration in WE20/WE21.
    Related TCodes SNRO, WE30, WE31, WE20, WE21

If you provide the exact context (e.g., during IDoc creation, segment processing, or message type assignment), I can give more precise steps.
