What causes this issue?

Since the Workflow Builder must exclusively edit the task for sending a
mail, the task is only displayed and cannot be changed.

System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

How to fix this error?

Exit the step definition and call the task again in task maintenance.
