- BDCP2 is not used to read change pointers ?The SAP error message WBB_HPR106 indicates that the system is unable to read change pointers for the specified object (in this case, BDCP2). This typically occurs in the context of SAP's Change Pointers functionality, which is used for tracking changes to master data and sending them to other systems or applications.
Cause
The error can be caused by several factors, including:
- Change Pointers Not Activated: Change pointers may not be activated for the specific object type or message type you are trying to process.
- Configuration Issues: There may be configuration issues in the relevant application area that prevent the system from recognizing or processing change pointers.
- Missing or Incorrect Customizing: The customizing settings for change pointers might be incomplete or incorrect.
- Data Issues: There may be no change pointers available for the specified object, or the data may not meet the criteria for change pointer processing.
Solution
To resolve the error, you can take the following steps:
Check Change Pointer Activation:
- Go to transaction BD61 to check if change pointers are activated for the relevant object type. Ensure that the object type you are working with is listed and activated.
Review Configuration:
- Check the configuration settings in transaction SPRO under the relevant application area. Ensure that the settings for change pointers are correctly configured.
Verify Customizing Settings:
- Ensure that the customizing settings for the message type and object type are correctly defined. This includes checking the message type in transaction BD52.
Check for Existing Change Pointers:
- Use transaction BD21 to check if there are any existing change pointers for the object. If there are none, it may indicate that no changes have been made that would generate change pointers.
Debugging:
