ISO code &v1& is assigned to more than one unit of measurement. The
system is, therefore, unable to determine a unit of measurement
    automatically.

Ensure that each ISO code is only assigned to one unit of measurement.

Smart SAP Assistant

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message WB027 - ISO code & is assigned to more than one unit of measurement ?

The SAP error message WB027 indicates that an ISO code is assigned to more than one unit of measurement (UoM) in the system. This can lead to confusion and inconsistencies in data processing, especially when dealing with international standards and conversions.

    Cause:

    The error typically arises when:

    1. Duplicate Assignments: The same ISO code (which is meant to represent a specific unit of measurement) is assigned to multiple units of measurement in the system.
    2. Configuration Issues: There may be a misconfiguration in the unit of measurement settings within the SAP system.
    3. Data Entry Errors: Incorrect data entry or migration issues can lead to multiple units being assigned the same ISO code.

    Solution:

To resolve the WB027 error, you can follow these steps:

    1. Identify Duplicate Assignments:

      • Use transaction codes like CUNI (Unit of Measure Conversion) or CUNI (Maintain Units of Measure) to check the units of measurement assigned to the ISO code.
      • Look for any duplicate entries where the same ISO code is linked to different units.
    2. Correct the Assignments:

      • If duplicates are found, decide which unit of measurement should retain the ISO code and remove the assignment from the others.
      • Ensure that each unit of measurement has a unique ISO code.
    3. Check Configuration:

      • Review the configuration settings for units of measurement in the SAP system to ensure that they are set up correctly.
      • Make sure that the ISO codes are correctly defined and that there are no overlaps.
    4. Data Consistency:

      • After making changes, ensure that the data is consistent across all relevant modules and that there are no further conflicts.
    5. Testing:

      • After making the necessary corrections, perform tests to ensure that the error does not reoccur and that the system behaves as expected.

    Related Information:

    • ISO Codes: These are standardized codes used to represent units of measurement internationally. For example, "kg" for kilograms, "m" for meters, etc.
    • Unit of Measurement (UoM): In SAP, UoM is crucial for inventory management, sales, and purchasing processes. Each UoM can have different conversion factors and should be uniquely identifiable.
    • SAP Documentation: Refer to SAP Help documentation for detailed information on units of measurement and ISO code assignments.

If the issue persists after following these steps, it may be beneficial to consult with your SAP support team or a technical consultant who can provide further assistance.
