  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

To activate a start condition, the following steps are necessary:
A type linkage between an event of an object type and an event
    recipient (workflow) must be created.
A check function module of the workflow system must be entered in the
    type linkage.
The type linkage must be activated.
The system has determined that the type linkage needed is already
available and that a user-defined check function module is entered in
this type linkage. Since only one single check function module can be
active, the user-defined check function module in the type linkage must
be replaced by the check function module of the workflow system. Thus
the function defined by the user-defined check function module is no
    longer available.

    System Response

The user-defined check function module was ignored in the type linkage
The check function module of the workflow system was not entered.
The start condition is not active.

    How to fix this error?

If you want to activate the start condition, choose '<ZK>Yes</>' when
asked whether the user-defined check function module is to be replaced.

    Procedure for System Administrators

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

    Meaning / Cause:

This warning message indicates that a particular start condition (identified by the placeholder &1, which will be replaced by the actual condition name or number) could not be activated in the system.

Start conditions are used in various SAP modules (commonly in Pricing, Output Determination, or Variant Configuration) to control when certain processes or rules should be triggered. If a start condition cannot be activated, it usually means:

    • The start condition is incomplete or contains errors.
    • The start condition references invalid or missing data.
    • There is a configuration inconsistency.
    • The system is unable to evaluate the condition due to missing prerequisites.

    Common Scenarios Where This Occurs:

    • Pricing Procedure: When activating a pricing condition type or condition record.
    • Output Determination: When activating output conditions.
    • Variant Configuration: When activating start conditions for dependencies.
    • Workflow or BRF+ rules: When activating conditions or rules.

    Possible Causes:

    1. Incorrect or incomplete condition definition: The start condition might be missing required fields or have invalid values.
    2. Missing or inconsistent customizing entries: Related configuration tables might be incomplete or inconsistent.
    3. Authorization issues: The user might not have sufficient authorization to activate the condition.
