Smart SAP Assistant

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message W0067 - After start of new day, only enter timeslots for day 2 ?

    SAP Error Message:
W0067 – "After start of new day, only enter timeslots for day 2"

    Cause:

This warning message typically appears in SAP systems related to time management or shift planning, especially when working with time slots or time data entry that spans multiple days.

    • The system has detected that the current day has "rolled over" to the next day (i.e., the new day has started).
    • However, the user is trying to enter or modify time slots for the previous day (day 1) instead of the current day (day 2).
    • This is often due to the system's internal date/time settings or the way time slots are defined in the configuration.
    • It can also occur if the system is configured to only allow time entries for the current or future days, not for past days once the new day has started.

    Solution:

    1. Check the Date and Time Settings:

      • Verify the system date and time settings to ensure they are correct.
      • Confirm that the user’s local time zone and the SAP system time zone are aligned or properly accounted for.
    2. Enter Time Slots for the Correct Day:

      • After the start of the new day, only enter or modify time slots for the current day (day 2).
      • Avoid entering or changing time slots for the previous day (day 1) once the new day has started.
    3. Adjust Time Slot Configuration (if applicable):

      • Review the time slot definitions in the relevant customizing (e.g., in Personnel Time Management or Shift Planning).
      • Ensure that time slots are correctly defined and assigned to the appropriate days.
      • If the business process requires entering time slots for the previous day after the new day has started, consider adjusting the system settings or process to allow this.
    4. User Training:

      • Inform users about the system behavior regarding time slot entries and the importance of entering data for the correct day.
      • Provide guidelines on how to handle time entries around midnight or shift changes.

    Related Information:

    • This message is a warning (W), not an error, so it does not necessarily block the transaction but advises the user to correct the day for time slot entry.
    • It is commonly seen in modules like SAP Time Management (PT), Shift Planning (PT01), or Personnel Scheduling.
    • If the business process requires entering or correcting time slots for previous days after the new day has started, you may need to check with your SAP Basis or functional consultant to see if system parameters or user authorizations can be adjusted.
    • Review OSS notes or SAP Help Portal for any updates or patches related to time slot handling and day rollover issues.

If you provide the exact transaction or module where this message appears, I can give more specific guidance.
