    Error Message:

VHUAP017 - More has been packed than allowed for the order

    Cause:

This error occurs during the packing process in SAP (typically in the Logistics Execution or Warehouse Management module) when the quantity of goods being packed exceeds the quantity allowed or planned for the specific sales or delivery order.

    Possible reasons include:

    • The packing quantity entered is greater than the open quantity of the order or delivery.
    • The system checks the packing against the order/delivery quantity and finds that the packed quantity would exceed the ordered quantity.
    • There might be a mismatch or inconsistency between the delivery quantity and the packing quantity.
    • Partial deliveries or multiple packing steps might have caused the cumulative packed quantity to exceed the allowed quantity.
    • Incorrect or duplicate packing entries.

    Solution:

    1. Check the Order/Delivery Quantities:

      • Verify the total quantity ordered and the quantity already delivered or packed.
      • Use transaction codes like VL03N (Display Outbound Delivery) or VA03 (Display Sales Order) to check quantities.
    2. Check the Packing Quantities:

      • Review the packing data entered.
      • Ensure that the quantity you are trying to pack does not exceed the remaining open quantity for the order or delivery.
    3. Adjust Packing Quantity:

      • Reduce the packing quantity to match the allowed quantity.
      • If you need to pack more, check if the order/delivery needs to be updated or extended.
    4. Check for Duplicate or Incorrect Entries:

      • Sometimes, packing might have been done partially or incorrectly.
      • Correct or delete any erroneous packing entries.
    5. Check Customizing Settings:

      • In some cases, the packing control settings in SAP might restrict packing quantities.
      • Review the packing profile and related configuration in SPRO under Logistics Execution ? Shipping ? Packing.
    6. If Partial Deliveries are Allowed:

      • Confirm that partial deliveries and packing are correctly handled.
      • Make sure the system is updated with the correct delivered quantities.
