Message type: E = Error
Message class: VCH_L2A_EXPLOSION - VCH Transition Workspace Explosion Errors
Message number: 120
Message text: Parent of BOM component &1 has no corresponding workbench item
The parent of this BOM component has been identified as not relevant for
transition in this model, although this BOM component has a valid
profile.
The parent component can be irrelevant, if
it is a non-configurable product<(>,<)>
it is a configurable product, but it has no valid profile that would
match the settings of the root product on the defined key date.
In this case the transition tool will not add the child components of
such a parent as relevant for transition either.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
If you think the reported child component should also be AVC-enabled,
then add the component product and its profiles to a workspace
individually and perform transition independently from this workspace.

- Parent of BOM component &1 has no corresponding workbench item ?The SAP error message VCH_L2A_EXPLOSION120 indicates that there is an issue with the Bill of Materials (BOM) in the system. Specifically, it means that the parent item of a BOM component does not have a corresponding workbench item. - Authorization Issues: Sometimes, the user may not have the necessary authorizations to view or access the workbench item.
Solution:
- Check BOM Configuration: Verify that the BOM is correctly configured and that the parent item exists in the system. You can do this by using transaction codes like
