What causes this issue?

LO-VC uses a set-based semantics for multi-valued characteristics in
dependencies and a value-based semantics in constraints.
Advanced Variant Configuration uses set-based semantics in all object
dependencies, so arithmetic operations on multi-value characteristics in
constraints are not supported.

System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
