What causes this issue?

The configuration must be valid and consistent in order to calculate
alternative values. The user valuations must lead to a validation result
that is not inconsistent. If a validation is still pending then the
alternative values can't be calculated.

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

Ensure that the validation result is consistent and there are no errors.
Possible solutions:
- Check that the model can be consumed by the advanced variant
configurator. The product modeler can do this by running a consistency
check and an advanced syntax check in the PMEVC.
- The user valuations must lead to a status that is not inconsistent.
Please check which value range restrictions apply to the state of the
configuration.
