Message type: E = Error
Message class: VCH_HL_AVC_CONS_CHK - Messages on AVC consistency check in PMWEVC
Message number: 004
Message text: Processing mode of &1 differs from Configuration Profile &2.
This message is called up by the consistency check for Advanced Variant
Configuration. The reason for the message is a mismatch in the
processing mode of dependency or constraint net &V1& and the
configuration profile &V2&.
With introduction of Advanced Variant Configuration<(>,<)> the
processing mode determines which configuration engine is needed for a
configuration session (Advanced Variant Configuration or Classic mode).
The configuration profile is the leading object. All object dependencies
attached to a certain configuration profile must have the same
processing mode as the configuration profile that they are attached to.
Special rules apply to dependencies attached to characteristic and value
level. In these cases<(>,<)> a message about a mismatch will only be
displayed if a single configuration profile<(>,<)> or multiple profiles
with same processing mode<(>,<)> are present in the model.
,,
Dependencies with a mismatching processing mode will be discarded during
configuration.
Adjust the processing mode of your dependency or constraint net in
accordance with the respective configuration profile.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

The SAP error message VCH_HL_AVC_CONS_CHK004 indicates that there is a mismatch between the processing mode of a specific object (denoted as &1) and the configuration profile (denoted as &2) in the context of Advanced Variant Configuration (AVC). This error typically arises when the configuration profile is set to a different processing mode than what is defined for the object being processed.
Cause: Mismatch in Processing Modes: The processing mode of the object (e.g., a configurable material or variant) does not align with the processing mode defined in the configuration profile. This can happen if the configuration profile is set to a specific mode (like "Standard" or "Advanced") while the object is set to another mode. Incorrect Configuration Profile Assignment: The configuration profile assigned to the material or variant may not be appropriate for the processing mode required for the specific configuration scenario. Changes in Configuration Settings: If there have been recent changes to the
