VBDRV015
- At this point, you cannot derive to a by-product ?The SAP error message VBDRV015, which states "At this point, you cannot derive to a by-product," typically occurs in the context of production planning and control, particularly when dealing with by-products in the production process. This error indicates that the system is unable to derive a by-product from the main product at the current stage of processing.
Cause:
- Incorrect Configuration: The production order or the material master may not be configured correctly to allow for by-products. This could include missing settings in the material master or the production order.
- Production Order Status: The production order may be in a status that does not allow for by-product derivation (e.g., if the order is already completed or technically closed).
- Missing By-Product Definition: The by-product may not be defined in the bill of materials (BOM) or routing for the main product.
- Incorrect Process Flow: The process flow may not be set up to allow for by-products at the current stage of production.
Solution:
- Check Material Master: Ensure that the by-product is correctly defined in the material master. Check the settings related to by-products in the relevant views.
- Review Production Order: Verify the status of the production order. If the order is completed or closed, you may need to create a new order or reopen the existing one if possible.
- Update BOM/Routing: Ensure that the BOM and routing for the main product include the by-product. If not, update the BOM to include the by-product definition.
- Process Flow Review: Review the production process flow to ensure that by-products can be derived at the current stage. Adjust the process if necessary.
- Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or help resources for specific configuration settings related to by-products in your version of SAP.
