  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message V50R056 - Several items from the same system have the same CUOBJ_CH ?

The SAP error message V50R056 indicates that there are multiple items in the same system that share the same CUOBJ_CH (Change Object) identifier. This typically occurs in the context of SAP's transport management system or when dealing with change requests and transport objects.

    Cause:

    1. Duplicate Change Objects: The error arises when the system detects that multiple objects (like transport requests or change requests) are trying to reference the same change object identifier (CUOBJ_CH).
    2. Transport Request Issues: This can happen if there are inconsistencies in the transport requests, such as when objects are included in multiple requests or when there are conflicts in the transport directory.
    3. Development Environment Issues: If multiple developers are working on the same object or if there are issues with the transport layer, it can lead to this error.

    Solution:

    1. Identify Duplicate Objects: Use transaction codes like SE01 (Transport Organizer) or SE09 to check for duplicate entries. Look for transport requests that might be referencing the same change object.
    2. Remove Duplicates: If you find duplicate entries, you may need to remove or adjust the transport requests to ensure that each change object is only referenced once.
    3. Check Transport Directory: Ensure that the transport directory is consistent and that there are no leftover or incomplete transport requests that could be causing the issue.
    4. Re-import Transport Requests: If the issue persists, consider re-importing the transport requests after resolving any conflicts or duplicates.
    5. Consult SAP Notes: Check the SAP Support Portal for any relevant SAP Notes that might address this specific error or provide additional troubleshooting steps.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes: Familiarize yourself with transaction codes like SE01, SE09, SE10, and SE03, which are used for managing transport requests and change objects.
    • Transport Management System (TMS): Understanding how TMS works can help in diagnosing and resolving transport-related issues.
    • SAP Notes: Regularly check for updates or patches from SAP that might address known issues related to transport management and change objects.

If the problem persists after following these steps, it may be beneficial to consult with your SAP Basis team or reach out to SAP support for further assistance.
