- The delivery schedule date lies in the future. ?The SAP error message V4095, "The delivery schedule date lies in the future," typically occurs in the context of sales and distribution (SD) when a user attempts to process a delivery or schedule a shipment for a date that is beyond the allowed time frame set in the system. This can happen during various transactions, such as creating a delivery, sales order, or scheduling agreement.
Cause:
- Future Delivery Dates: The primary cause of this error is that the delivery schedule date specified in the sales order or delivery document is set to a date that is beyond the permissible range defined in the system settings.
- Configuration Settings: The system may have specific configuration settings that restrict the scheduling of deliveries to a certain time frame (e.g., only allowing deliveries within a certain number of days from the current date).
- Business Rules: Company policies or business rules may dictate that deliveries cannot be scheduled too far in advance.
Solution:
- Check Delivery Date: Review the delivery schedule date in the sales order or delivery document. Ensure that it is set to a date that is within the allowed range.
- Adjust Configuration: If necessary, consult with your SAP administrator or configuration team to review and adjust the settings related to delivery scheduling. This may involve changing the configuration in the relevant customizing settings (e.g., in transaction SPRO).
- Business Process Review: If the error is due to business rules, consider discussing with relevant stakeholders to determine if the rules can be adjusted to allow for more flexibility in scheduling.
- Use Current Date: If the delivery is intended for a near-future date, try using the current date or a date that is within the acceptable range.
