  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message USMDC021 - No transfer because mapping &1 has already been transferred ?

The SAP error message USMDC021 indicates that a transfer cannot be completed because the mapping specified (denoted by &1) has already been transferred. This error typically occurs in the context of data transfer processes, such as those involving the SAP Master Data Governance (MDG) or other data management scenarios.

    Cause:

The primary cause of this error is that the system has detected that the mapping you are trying to transfer has already been processed. This could happen due to:

    • Duplicate transfer attempts for the same mapping.
    • A previous transfer was completed successfully, and the system is preventing a second transfer to avoid data inconsistencies.
    • The mapping might have been marked as completed or processed in the system.

    Solution:

To resolve the USMDC021 error, you can take the following steps:

    1. Check Transfer Status: Verify the status of the mapping in question. You can do this by checking the relevant transaction or report that shows the transfer history. Ensure that the mapping has not already been transferred.

    2. Review Logs: Look at the logs or messages related to the transfer process. This can provide insights into what happened during the previous transfer and why the system is preventing a new transfer.

    3. Avoid Duplicate Transfers: If you are attempting to transfer the same mapping multiple times, ensure that you are only executing the transfer once. If you need to make changes, consider updating the existing mapping instead of re-transferring it.

    4. Consult Documentation: Refer to the SAP documentation or help resources related to the specific module you are working with. There may be specific guidelines or best practices for handling mappings and transfers.

    5. Contact Support: If you are unable to resolve the issue through the above steps, consider reaching out to your SAP support team or consulting SAP Notes for any known issues or patches related to this error.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes: Familiarize yourself with relevant transaction codes that may help you monitor or manage data transfers, such as MDG_MAT, MDG_BP, or others depending on your specific use case.
    • SAP Notes: Search for SAP Notes related to the USMDC021 error for any specific fixes or recommendations provided by SAP.
    • Data Governance: If you are working within the context of Master Data Governance, ensure that you understand the data governance processes and how they relate to data transfers and mappings.
