Message text: Higher-level and predecessor nodes: Deviating values of entity type &1
You can only process higher-level nodes and predecessor nodes in
individual processing if the higher-level entity types are restricted to
the same value for all affected nodes (both nodes to be assigned and
existing nodes).
The higher-level nodes and predecessor nodes cannot be changed in
individual processing.
Use hierarchy processing to process the higher-level nodes and
predecessor nodes.

USMD1A006
- Higher-level and predecessor nodes: Deviating values of entity type &1 ?The SAP error message USMD1A006 typically occurs in the context of Master Data Governance (MDG) when there is a mismatch in the values of higher-level and predecessor nodes for a specific entity type. This error indicates that the values assigned to a higher-level node do not align with the values of its subordinate nodes, which can lead to inconsistencies in the data hierarchy.
Cause:
- Data Inconsistency: The most common cause of this error is that the values for the higher-level node and its subordinate nodes (predecessor nodes) do not match. For example, if a higher-level node is set to a certain value, all its child nodes must either inherit that value or be compatible with it.
- Configuration Issues: There may be issues in the configuration of the data model or the relationships between the nodes.
- Data Entry Errors: Manual data entry errors can lead to discrepancies between the values of the nodes.
Solution:
- Review Data Hierarchy: Check the hierarchy of the entity type in question. Ensure that the values for the higher-level node and its subordinate nodes are consistent and aligned.
- Correct Values: Update the values of the nodes to ensure they match. This may involve changing the value of the higher-level node or adjusting the values of the subordinate nodes.
- Validation Rules: Review any validation rules that may be in place for the entity type. Ensure that they are correctly configured to prevent such discrepancies in the future.
- Data Governance Processes: Implement or enhance data governance processes to ensure that data entry and updates are performed consistently and correctly.
- Testing: After making changes, test the data model to ensure that the error does not reoccur.
