What causes this issue?

The defined field is too long (longer than the standard field for
characteristic values UG_VALUE in Financial Basis).

System Response

No complex selections can be maintained for this field.

How to fix this error?

However, selections can be made with an individual value.
Caution: The value entered is processed with the maximum length. This
means that the part of the field exceeding the normally permitted length
will be cut off.

Procedure for System Administrators

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
