  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

You are already using exchange rate type &v2& as the rerouting target
for exchange rate type &v3&. If you reroute the conversion into
external currencies for two exchange rate types to the same target
exchange rate type, you can no longer distinguish the original exchange
rate types (as of the rerouting date).

    System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

&WHAT_TO_DO& Enter a new exchange rate type for each exchange rate type
by which you want to convert amounts into external currencies (via the
euro as base currency). In each case, use an exchange rate type that
    you have not used before.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message UO120 - Exch.rate type &2 is the rerouting target for another exch.rate type ?

The SAP error message UO120 indicates that there is a conflict with exchange rate types in the system. Specifically, it means that the exchange rate type you are trying to use as a rerouting target is already being used as a rerouting target for another exchange rate type. This can occur in the context of currency conversion and financial transactions where multiple exchange rate types are defined.

    Cause:

    1. Configuration Conflict: The exchange rate type you are trying to set as a rerouting target is already assigned as a rerouting target for another exchange rate type in the system.
    2. Incorrect Setup: There may be an incorrect setup in the configuration of exchange rate types in the SAP system, leading to this conflict.
    3. Data Integrity Issues: There might be data integrity issues in the configuration tables related to exchange rates.

    Solution:

    1. Check Exchange Rate Type Configuration:

      • Go to the configuration settings for exchange rate types in SAP (Transaction Code: OB08).
      • Review the settings for the exchange rate types involved and ensure that the rerouting targets are correctly defined.
    2. Identify Conflicting Exchange Rate Types:

      • Identify which exchange rate type is currently using the target exchange rate type as a rerouting target.
      • You can do this by checking the configuration for all exchange rate types to see where the conflict arises.
    3. Modify Rerouting Settings:

      • If necessary, modify the rerouting settings to ensure that the exchange rate types do not conflict. You may need to change the rerouting target for one of the exchange rate types to resolve the issue.
    4. Consult Documentation:

      • Review SAP documentation or help resources related to exchange rate types and rerouting to ensure that you are following best practices.
    5. Testing:

      • After making changes, perform tests to ensure that the exchange rate calculations work as expected without triggering the error message.
    6. Seek Help from SAP Support:

      • If you are unable to resolve the issue, consider reaching out to SAP support for assistance, especially if this is impacting critical business processes.

    Related Information:
