Message text: Range has no values; when creating, specify single values
You used the <LS>Create</> function to assign values to the hierarchy.
You entered ranges of values, however no values exist within those
ranges.
The hierarchy remains unchanged.
You have two options for assigning values to the hierarchy in the
<LS>Create</> function:
You can assign existing values to the hierarchy. Here you can specify
single values or ranges of values. If you specify ranges, all existing
values within those ranges are assigned to the hierarchy.
You can create new values to be assigned to the hierarchy. A new value
can be created only if you enter a single value. Thus, to create a new
value, enter the value in the <LS>From</> column and leave the <LS>To
</> column empty.
You can also combine these two options during a single dialog as
illustrated in the following example.
Example
The following values already exist:
Hierarchy 0001
Value 0010
Value 0020
Value 0030
Hierarchy 0002
Now you want to assign the values 0010 and 0020 to hierarchy 0002 and
you simultaneously want to create the new values 0040 and 0050 and
assign these to the hierarchy as well.
To do this you enter the following in the dialog box:
From,,To
0010,,0020
0040
0050

- Range has no values; when creating, specify single values ?The SAP error message UGWB028 ("Range has no values; when creating, specify single values") typically occurs when you are trying to create a selection range in a report or transaction, but the range you are trying to define does not contain any valid values. This can happen in various contexts, such as when using selection screens or defining parameters for reports.
Cause:
- Empty Range Definition: You may have defined a range without specifying any values. For example, if you are trying to create a range for a selection field but have not provided any specific values or criteria.
- Incorrect Data Type: The data type of the values you are trying to enter may not match the expected data type for the field.
- Invalid Input: The input values may be outside the acceptable range or format for the field.
- Selection Criteria: If you are using a selection option that requires specific values (like a date range), and you leave it blank or provide an invalid format, this error can occur.
Solution:
- Specify Values: Ensure that you are entering valid single values or ranges for the selection criteria. If the field requires specific values, make sure to provide them.
- Check Data Types: Verify that the values you are entering match the expected data types for the fields. For example, if a field expects a date, ensure you are entering a valid date format.
- Review Selection Options: If you are using selection options (like "between" or "greater than"), make sure to fill in all required fields appropriately.
- Consult Documentation: If you are unsure about the required values or formats, consult the SAP documentation or help for the specific transaction or report you are using.
- Test with Known Values: Try entering known valid values to see if the error persists. This can help isolate whether the issue is with the values you are trying to enter.
