Message text: Field &2 not specified as an external characteristic in hierarchies of &1
From the definition in your data basis it follows that &v2& is used as a
node characteristic in hierarchies of characteristic &v1&. This link is
in most cases dependent on the assignment of certain roles.
However, the definition of characteristic &v1& in the assigned remote
system does <ZH>not</> corresond to this. Consequently correct
synchronization of the hierarchies for &v1& is <ZH>not</> possible.
You are not able to save the data basis.
Either enter field &v2& as an external characteristic in hierarchies in
the definition of field &v1&, or else assign other roles to
characteristics &v1& or &v2&, so that they are independent of each other
with regard to hierarchy maintenance.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

Solution:
Check Hierarchy Configuration:
- Go to the InfoObject maintenance transaction (e.g., RSA1) and check the hierarchy settings for the specified InfoObject (&1).
- Ensure that the field (&2) is included as an external characteristic in the hierarchy definition.
Update Hierarchy:
- If the field is not included, you may need to add it to the hierarchy. This can typically be done in the hierarchy maintenance section of the InfoObject.
- After making changes, ensure to activate the hierarchy.
Rebuild or Refresh:
- If the hierarchy has been modified, you may need to rebuild or refresh the hierarchy to ensure that the changes take effect.
Check for Data Model Changes:
- If there have been recent changes to the data model, verify that all related objects and hierarchies are updated accordingly.
Consult Documentation:
- Review SAP documentation or notes related to the specific InfoObject and hierarchy configurations for any additional guidance or best practices.
Related Information:
