UGMD216
- Cannot determine which field in the original system has the SID &1 ?The SAP error message UGMD216, which states "Cannot determine which field in the original system has the SID &1," typically occurs in the context of data extraction or data transfer processes, particularly when dealing with SAP BW (Business Warehouse) or SAP HANA systems. This error indicates that the system is unable to map a specific SID (Surrogate ID) to its corresponding field in the original data source.
Cause:
- Missing or Inconsistent Data: The SID table may not contain the necessary entries, or the data in the original system may be inconsistent or incomplete.
- Incorrect Configuration: The data source or InfoObject may not be correctly configured, leading to issues in identifying the SID.
- Data Transfer Issues: Problems during the data transfer process, such as network issues or interruptions, can lead to incomplete data being transferred.
- Changes in Data Model: If there have been changes in the data model or structure of the original system, the mapping of SIDs may be affected.
Solution:
- Check SID Table: Verify the SID table in the original system to ensure that it contains the necessary entries for the SID in question. You can use transaction codes like
RSOSID
to check the SID mapping.- Data Consistency: Ensure that the data in the original system is consistent and complete. You may need to run consistency checks or data validation processes.
- Reconfigure Data Source: If the data source or InfoObject is incorrectly configured, review and correct the configuration settings in the SAP BW system.
- Re-extract Data: If the issue is due to a failed data transfer, consider re-extracting the data from the original system to ensure that all necessary information is captured.
- Check for Changes: If there have been recent changes to the data model, ensure that all relevant mappings and configurations are updated accordingly.
