Message text: Key figure &1 (type &2) has no unit field
Key figure &V1& has the type &V2&. A unit of measure or currency field
needs to be assigned to this data type. For technical reasons (for
example, generation of DDIC tables), an assignment of a fixed unit of
measure or a fixed currency (such as in SAP BW) is not possible.
You cannot use key figure &V1& in this manner.
You have two options:
Adjust the definition of key figure &V1& so that a suitable unit of
measure or currency field is assigned.
Make sure that key figure &V1& is no longer registered in your data
basis - for example, either by explicitly unregistering the key figure
or by deleting the use of this key figure (for example, as an attribute
of an explicitly-registered characteristic).
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

UGMD138
- Key figure &1 (type &2) has no unit field ?The SAP error message UGMD138 indicates that a key figure in your data model does not have an associated unit field. This can occur in various contexts, such as when working with SAP BW (Business Warehouse) or SAP HANA, where key figures are used to represent quantitative data.
Cause:
- Missing Unit Assignment: The key figure is defined without a unit of measure, which is necessary for proper data interpretation and calculations.
- Data Model Configuration: The data model or InfoObject may not have been configured correctly, leading to the absence of a unit field.
- Inconsistent Data Types: The key figure may be defined with a data type that does not support units, or it may be incorrectly set up in the data model.
Solution:
Check Key Figure Definition:
- Go to the key figure definition in the SAP BW or HANA model.
- Ensure that the key figure is assigned a unit of measure. You can do this by editing the key figure properties and linking it to a unit field.
Modify Data Model:
- If the key figure is part of a composite provider or calculation view, ensure that the underlying data sources have the correct unit fields defined.
- If necessary, create or modify the unit of measure InfoObject and link it to the key figure.
Review Data Types:
- Ensure that the data type of the key figure is compatible with the unit of measure. For example, if the key figure is defined as a currency, it should have a currency unit associated with it.
Re-activate Objects:
- After making changes, re-activate the data model or InfoProvider to ensure that the changes take effect.
Testing:
- After making the necessary adjustments, test the data model to ensure that the error no longer appears and that the key figure behaves as expected.
