  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

Your application area uses the field &v1&. However, this field does
<ZH>not</> actively exist in the assigned system with RFC destination
    &v2&.
You may have inadvertantly selected field &v1& ; that is, the system may
have also automatically registered field &v1& because it is referenced
by another registered field (for example, due to compounding or because
it is a basic field or an attribute, or similar).
If &v1& is an ODS object for a combination characteristic, then &v1&
needs to be an <ZH>ODS object</> for direct update.

    System Response

If a role with standard-delivery tables is assigned to the field, merely
regard this message as informational. In this case, the system will
treat field &v1& as a local field.
In other cases, this is an error and you cannot save your settings.

    How to fix this error?

    Change your settings if necessary.

    Procedure for System Administrators

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

The SAP error message UGMD116 indicates that a specific field (denoted as &1) does not actively exist or cannot be used in the specified system (denoted as &2). This error typically arises in the context of data migration, system configuration, or when working with specific SAP modules.

    Cause:

    1. Field Not Defined: The field you are trying to access or use may not be defined in the system. This could be due to a missing configuration or a field that has been removed or deprecated.
    2. Incorrect System Context: The field may exist in one system (e.g., development) but not in another (e.g., production). This can happen if the systems are not synchronized or if there are version differences.

    4. Data Model Changes: Changes in the data model (e.g., during an upgrade or implementation of a new module) may lead to fields being renamed, removed, or made inactive.

    Solution:

    1. Check Field Definition: Verify that the field exists in the data dictionary (transaction SE11) and is active. If it is not defined, you may need to create it or adjust your configuration.
    2. System Synchronization: Ensure that the systems (development, quality, production) are synchronized and that the field exists in all relevant systems. If necessary, transport the changes from one system to another.
    3. Review Authorizations: Check the user’s authorizations to ensure they have the necessary permissions to access the field. This can be done through transaction SU53 or by consulting with your security team.
    4. Consult Documentation: Review any recent changes in the system or documentation related to the specific module you are working with. This may provide insights into any changes that could have affected the field.
