The SAP error message UD616, which states "Movability deactivated (Positions are not saved)," typically occurs in the context of inventory management or warehouse management when trying to perform actions related to stock movements or inventory adjustments. This error indicates that the system has determined that the movability of the stock is deactivated for the relevant material or storage location.

    Causes:

    1. Movability Settings: The movability of the material may be set to inactive in the material master record. This can happen if the material is not intended to be moved or if it is in a status that does not allow for movement.
    2. Storage Location Settings: The storage location may have restrictions that prevent the movement of stock.
    3. Stock Type: The stock type (e.g., blocked stock, quality inspection stock) may not allow for movement.
    4. Configuration Issues: There may be configuration settings in the system that restrict the movement of certain materials or stock types.

    Solutions:

    1. Check Material Master:

      • Go to the material master record (transaction code MM03) and check the "Basic Data" and "Storage" views to ensure that the movability is activated for the relevant material.
      • If necessary, update the settings to allow for movement.

      • Check the settings for the storage location in the configuration (transaction code SPRO) to ensure that there are no restrictions on stock movements.
