Message number: 610
Message text: Entity type stored in addition to data model. Not assigned to a model.
The entity model was not stored in a data model (colored-in area).
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
Despite this fact, the entity type can be created. Choose the
'Continue' function. In the next dialog box, enter the ID of an entity
type that does not yet exist. You are taken into the create screen for
entity types. Make the necessary entries there and save the entity
type. The entity type is now created, but has not been assigned to a
data model.
To assign an entity type to a data model at time of creation, create
the entity type when you insert it into the data model graphic (into
the corresponding colored area).
You can cancel the process of insertion that you started in the
subsequent dialog box.

UD610
- Entity type stored in addition to data model. Not assigned to a model. ?The SAP error message UD610, which states "Entity type stored in addition to data model. Not assigned to a model," typically occurs in the context of SAP's data modeling tools, particularly when working with the SAP HANA database or SAP BW (Business Warehouse). This error indicates that there is an entity type (like a table or view) that has been defined but is not properly linked to a data model.
Cause:
- Entity Definition Without Model Assignment: The entity type has been created but has not been assigned to any data model. This can happen if the entity was created manually or if there was an error during the modeling process.
- Modeling Errors: There may be inconsistencies or errors in the data model that prevent the entity from being properly assigned.
- Changes in Data Model: If the data model was modified (e.g., entities were deleted or renamed), it could lead to orphaned entities that are no longer linked to a model.
Solution:
- Check Entity Assignment: Verify that the entity type is correctly assigned to a data model. You can do this by navigating to the data modeling tools in SAP and checking the entity's properties.
- Reassign the Entity: If the entity is not assigned, you can manually assign it to the appropriate data model. This usually involves editing the model and adding the entity to it.
- Review Data Model: Check for any inconsistencies or errors in the data model that might be causing the issue. Ensure that all entities are properly linked and that there are no orphaned entities.
- Delete Unused Entities: If the entity is not needed, consider deleting it from the system to avoid confusion and potential errors in the future.
- Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or help resources for specific instructions on managing entity types and data models in your version of SAP.
