What causes this issue?

A characteristic compound is set up for the named characteristics.
Consequently, if the dependent characteristic is included in the data
basis, the independent characteristic also has to be present in the data
basis. The role <LS>Fixed in Consolidation Area</> often proves
appropriate.

System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
