What causes this issue?

You carry out the automatic consolidation of investments in the
non-initial restatement characteristic value &V2& in from-period &V3& of
its validity timeframe. In this case, the system also processes goodwill
entries from the reference restatement &V1&.
However, no goodwill entries exist in restatement &V1& for time &V3&.
Therefore, the consolidation of investments postings in restatement &V2&
are incomplete.

System Response

When executing automatic posting tasks in the restatement monitor, the
system uses a "delta" procedure for the totals records and documents
posted in the task (see SAP Note 1667855). The data stream for goodwill
is an exception to this: This is <ZH>not</> subject to the "delta"
procedure in the restatement dimension. The system generates separate
goodwill entries for each restatement characteristic value, whereby each
entry has the total value that is valid for the respective restatement
characteristic value.
The system uses a special logic so that goodwill entries are available
for processing when consolidation of investments takes place in a
non-initial restatement characteristic value: If it takes place in
from-period &V3& of the validity timeframe of restatement &V2& of the
current task execution, the system also reads the goodwill entries that
are in this period in reference restatement &V1& and processes these for
posting in the current restatement &V2&.
In the current scenario, no goodwill entries exist in restatement &V1&
for time &V3&. Therefore, the system cannot process the goodwill
correctly when consolidation of investments is carried out in
restatement &V2&.

How to fix this error?

The lack of goodwill entries in reference restatement &V1& is probably
due to the fact that you have not yet carried out automatic
consolidation of investments in restatement &V1& in an update run.
When using the restatement, always execute the tasks in "ascending"
sequence in the restatement dimension according to the definition of the
references in the master data of the restatement.
Example:
Restatement B -> Reference restatement A
Restatement A -> Reference to original data
In the above example, you have to execute the tasks for the initial
restatement first, then for restatement A, and finally for restatement
B.
