Message type: E = Error
Message class: TW - R3trans - Messages
Message number: 385
Message text: Language group &1 only contains lowercase letters
The language group specified in TPPARAM only contains lower case
letters. As from Release 4.0 lower case letters are required to
identify languages internally, R3trans is incompatible in as much that
lower case letters in the language group are no longer automatically
converted into upper case letters.
The language group is extended with upper case letters.
Check the transport profile TPPARAM and enter the language group in
upper case letters if you wish to work in the language corresponding to
the upper case letters.

TW385
- Language group &1 only contains lowercase letters ?The SAP error message TW385 indicates that the language group specified contains only lowercase letters. This error typically arises when defining or configuring language groups in SAP, particularly in the context of language settings for various applications or modules.
Cause:
The error occurs because SAP requires language groups to be defined using uppercase letters. Language groups are used to categorize languages in a way that allows for proper handling of translations and language-specific settings. If the language group is defined using only lowercase letters, SAP will not accept it and will throw the TW385 error.
Solution:
To resolve the TW385 error, you need to ensure that the language group is defined using uppercase letters. Here are the steps to correct the issue:
Identify the Language Group: Determine which language group is causing the error. This may involve checking the configuration settings where the language group is defined.
Modify the Language Group: Change the language group name to use uppercase letters. For example, if the language group is defined as "en", change it to "EN".
Save Changes: After making the necessary changes, save the configuration.
Test the Configuration: After saving, test the configuration to ensure that the error no longer appears and that the language settings are functioning as expected.
Related Information:
Language Groups in SAP: Language groups are used to manage translations and language settings across different SAP modules. Each language is typically represented by a two-letter code (e.g., "EN" for English, "DE" for German).
SAP Language Settings: Language settings can be configured in various areas of SAP, including user profiles, system settings, and application-specific configurations.
Documentation: For more detailed information, refer to the SAP Help Portal or the specific documentation related to language settings in your version of SAP.
