  • What causes this issue?

During export, components of one of the objects to be transported were

does not exist in the system.
This situation can be caused by errors in development, translation or
transport tools (incomplete deletion of objects).

    System Response

The object is handled as if it does not exist. When this transport
request is imported into the subsequent systems, this object is
    deleted.

    How to fix this error?

No action is required for this transport request. You can import it
    into the subsequent systems.
However, using the export logs, try and find out which sub-objects
triggered this warning. Then give this information to the SAP Hotline.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message TW198 - Components of &1 still exist in the system ?

The SAP error message TW198, which states "Components of &1 still exist in the system," typically occurs when you are trying to delete or change a particular object (like a material, BOM, or routing) that still has dependent components or references in the system. This can happen in various contexts, such as when attempting to delete a material that is still being used in production orders, purchase orders, or other transactions.

    Cause:

The error is caused by the existence of dependent objects or references that are linked to the object you are trying to delete or modify. For example:

    • A material is still assigned to a BOM or routing.
    • A production order is still referencing the material.
    • There are open purchase orders or stock items related to the material.

    Solution:

To resolve this error, you need to identify and remove or update the dependencies associated with the object you are trying to delete. Here are the steps you can take:

    1. Identify Dependencies:

      • Use transaction codes like CS03 (Display BOM), CS12 (BOM Level Display), or CO03 (Display Production Order) to check if the object is still being used.
      • Check for any open purchase orders using transaction ME23N (Display Purchase Order).
      • Use transaction MB52 (List Warehouse Stocks on Hand) to see if there are any stock items related to the material.
    2. Remove Dependencies:

      • If the object is part of a BOM, you may need to delete or change the BOM using CS02 (Change BOM).
      • If there are production orders, you may need to complete or delete those orders using CO02 (Change Production Order).
      • For purchase orders, you may need to cancel or close them.
    3. Check for Other References:

      • Ensure that the object is not referenced in any other transactions or configurations, such as sales orders, delivery documents, or inventory management.
    4. Retry Deletion/Modification:

      • Once all dependencies have been addressed, try to delete or modify the object again.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes: Familiarize yourself with relevant transaction codes for managing BOMs, materials, and production orders.
