  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message TSGEN102 - No objects waiting for generation could be found ?

The SAP error message TSGEN102: No objects waiting for generation could be found typically occurs in the context of the SAP Transport Management System (TMS) when you are trying to generate transport requests or when you are attempting to generate objects in the system.

    Cause:

    1. No Objects in the Transport Request: The most common reason for this error is that there are no objects currently in the transport request that need to be generated. This can happen if the transport request is empty or if all objects have already been generated.

    2. Incorrect Selection: You may be trying to generate objects from a transport request that does not contain any objects or is not correctly selected.

    3. Transport Request Status: The transport request may be in a status that does not allow for generation, such as being released or not properly saved.

    4. Development Class Issues: If the objects are not assigned to a development class or if the development class is not properly configured, it may lead to this error.

    Solution:

    1. Check Transport Request: Verify that the transport request you are trying to generate actually contains objects. You can do this by checking the contents of the transport request in the Transport Organizer (transaction SE09 or SE10).

    2. Add Objects: If the transport request is empty, you need to add the necessary objects to it. You can do this by using the appropriate development tools (e.g., SE80 for ABAP objects).

    3. Check Status: Ensure that the transport request is in the correct status. If it is released, you may need to create a new transport request or modify the existing one.

    4. Use Correct Transaction: Make sure you are using the correct transaction for generating the objects. For example, use transaction SE09 or SE10 to manage transport requests.

    5. Check Development Class: Ensure that the objects you are trying to transport are assigned to a valid development class and that the development class is properly configured.

    6. Re-transport: If you suspect that the transport request is corrupted or not functioning as expected, you may consider creating a new transport request and adding the objects again.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes: SE09 (Transport Organizer), SE10 (Transport Organizer for Workbench Requests), SE80 (Object Navigator).
    • Transport Management System (TMS): Understanding how TMS works can help in managing transport requests effectively.
    • SAP Notes: Check for any relevant SAP Notes that may address specific issues related to transport requests and object generation.

If the issue persists after trying the above solutions, it may be beneficial to consult with your SAP Basis team or refer to SAP support for further assistance.
