How To Fix TRQ0050 - It is not possible to split a flow

SAP Error Message - Details

  • Message type: E = Error

  • Message class: TRQ0 - Messages for TR Quantity Ledger

  • Message number: 050

  • Message text: It is not possible to split a flow

  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

A flow from a class position in a securities account (for example
interest, dividends or repayment) must be split between multiple
positions. This is the case if the class position in a securities
account is composed of multiple positions with various differentiation
    characteristics.
If the nominal amounts or number of units in the affected positions have
different plus or minus signs (a mixture of long and short positions),
it is not possible to split the flow. A mixture of long and short
positions is not supported in a class position in a securities account.

    How to fix this error?

Avoid a mixture of long and short positions. Check if you require a
mixture of long and short positions in the class position in securities
account company code &v1&, ID number &v2&, securities account &v3&. You
may only have chosen the incorrect differentiation characteristics for a
transaction and in this way have unintentionally generated a short
position (for example, a sale with a general valuation class for which
no position exists). If necessary, change the differentiation
    characteristics accordingly.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message TRQ0050 - It is not possible to split a flow ?

The SAP error message TRQ0050, which states "It is not possible to split a flow," typically occurs in the context of SAP's Transportation Management or similar modules where flow splitting is attempted but cannot be executed due to certain constraints or conditions.

    Cause:

    1. Flow Configuration: The flow you are trying to split may not be configured to allow splitting. This could be due to settings in the transportation planning or the way the flow is defined in the system.
    2. Dependencies: There may be dependencies or constraints related to the transportation order, such as linked shipments or other logistical constraints that prevent the flow from being split.
    3. Status of the Flow: The current status of the flow might not allow for splitting. For example, if the flow is already in a certain processing state (e.g., confirmed, in transit), it may not be eligible for splitting.
    4. Master Data Issues: There could be issues with master data, such as incorrect or incomplete data related to the transportation lanes, routes, or other relevant entities.

    Solution:

    1. Check Flow Configuration: Review the configuration settings for the flow in question. Ensure that the flow is set up to allow splitting if that is the intended functionality.
    2. Review Dependencies: Check for any dependencies or linked orders that might be preventing the split. You may need to resolve these dependencies before attempting to split the flow.
    3. Change Flow Status: If the flow is in a status that does not allow splitting, consider changing its status (if applicable) or waiting until it reaches a state where splitting is permitted.
    4. Master Data Validation: Validate the master data related to the transportation order. Ensure that all necessary data is complete and correct.
    5. Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or help resources for specific guidance on the error message and the context in which it occurs.
