  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message TR693 - Object &1 is in customer namespace: ENTER -> continue creation ?

The SAP error message TR693 indicates that you are trying to create or modify an object (like a transport request) that is in a customer namespace, and the system is prompting you to confirm your action. This typically occurs when you are working with objects that are defined in a customer-specific namespace (usually starting with "Z" or "Y") rather than in the standard SAP namespace.

    Cause:

    1. Customer Namespace: The object you are trying to create or modify is located in a customer namespace, which is reserved for custom developments and modifications.
    2. Transport Request: The system is alerting you that you are working with a customer object, which may require special handling or approval processes.
    3. Authorization: You may not have the necessary authorizations to create or modify objects in the customer namespace.

    Solution:

    1. Confirm Action: If you are sure you want to proceed with the creation or modification of the object, you can simply press ENTER to continue. This will allow you to proceed with the operation.
    2. Check Authorizations: Ensure that you have the necessary authorizations to work with objects in the customer namespace. If you do not have the required permissions, contact your SAP security administrator.
    3. Review Development Guidelines: If you are part of a development team, make sure to follow your organization's guidelines for working with customer objects, including any necessary approvals or documentation.
    4. Consult Documentation: If you are unsure about the implications of working with customer namespace objects, consult your project documentation or speak with a senior developer or project manager.

    Related Information:

    • Namespaces: In SAP, namespaces are used to differentiate between standard SAP objects and customer-specific objects. Standard objects are typically in the "SAP" namespace, while customer objects are in the "Z" or "Y" namespaces.
    • Transport Management: When working with transport requests, it's important to understand how to manage and transport custom developments across different SAP systems (e.g., development, quality assurance, production).
