Message text: Changing the software component may cause inconsistencies
You want to change the software component of the package &V1& from &V2&
to &V3&.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
This change may cause inconsistencies in the delivery system.
If you assign the package &V1& to the software component <LS>HOME</>,
the objects in this package are not delivered to the customer.
Note the following:
If you want to assign the package to the software component <LS>HOME</>
<LS>afterwards</>, then there will be problems if delivered objects are
linked with undelivered objects, or if objects are already in the final
assembly system.
If this is the case, inform the final assembly about what you are
doing.
If the package was <LS>previously</> assigned to the software component
<LS>HOME</>, then these objects are not in the final assembly delivery
system. If this is the case, transport all of the objects in the
package once more.

TR465
- Changing the software component may cause inconsistencies ?The SAP error message TR465, which states "Changing the software component may cause inconsistencies," typically occurs during transport management activities, particularly when you are trying to change the software component of a transport request. This error is a warning that indicates that modifying the software component could lead to inconsistencies in the system landscape, especially if the transport request has already been released or if it contains objects that are dependent on the original software component.
Cause:
- Transport Request Modification: You are attempting to change the software component of a transport request that has already been released or contains objects that are linked to a specific software component.
- Dependencies: The objects in the transport request may have dependencies on the original software component, and changing it could lead to issues in the target system.
- System Landscape: The transport request may be intended for a different system or environment where the software component is not compatible.
Solution:
- Review Transport Request: Check the transport request to see which objects it contains and their associated software components. Ensure that the objects are compatible with the new software component you are trying to assign.
- Avoid Changing Software Component: If possible, do not change the software component of the transport request. Instead, create a new transport request with the correct software component from the beginning.
- Recreate Transport Request: If you need to change the software component, consider recreating the transport request with the correct settings and objects.
- Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or notes related to transport management and software components for best practices and guidelines.
- Check Dependencies: Use transaction codes like SE03 (Transport Organizer Tools) to analyze dependencies and ensure that changing the software component will not lead to inconsistencies.
