Message type: E = Error
Message class: TR - Change and Transport System
Message number: 259
Message text: No longer possible to edit application-specific messages
It was only possible to maintain your own messages for a reservation
for generations with change authorization (reservation type F and
message type E). You could not send your own messages for other
reservations even before.
Entering your own messages for reservation type F and message type W
was also locked for Release 4.0 because
there was no need for separate messages for new reservations
the messages entered for old reservations were not maintained
(incorrect message texts, long texts that did not exist or did not have
any contents)
Maintenance of messages was only supported in internal SAP development
systems. This information is therefore not relevant for customer
systems.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
The process is terminated.
Maintain the reservation without your own messages.

TR259
- No longer possible to edit application-specific messages ?The SAP error message TR259, which states "No longer possible to edit application-specific messages," typically occurs when there is an attempt to edit or modify application-specific messages in the SAP system, but the system has determined that this action is no longer permissible. This can happen for several reasons, including:
Causes:
- Transport Request Status: The transport request containing the messages may have already been released or is in a status that does not allow further modifications.
- Message Class Locking: The message class may be locked for editing due to being in use by another user or process.
- Development System Restrictions: In some cases, the system may have restrictions in place that prevent editing of certain messages after a certain point in the development lifecycle.
- Authorization Issues: The user may not have the necessary authorizations to edit application-specific messages.
Solutions:
- Check Transport Request Status: Verify the status of the transport request. If it has been released, you will need to create a new transport request to make further changes.
- Unlock the Message Class: If the message class is locked, you may need to wait until it is unlocked or contact the user who has it locked to release it.
- Create a New Message: If you cannot edit an existing message, consider creating a new message in the same message class.
- Authorization Check: Ensure that you have the necessary authorizations to edit messages. You may need to contact your SAP security administrator to verify your permissions.
- Use Transaction SE91: If you are trying to edit messages, use transaction SE91 to check the message class and see if it is editable.
