  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message TR199 - Conflict "no name range" for object & ?

The SAP error message TR199, which indicates a conflict with "no name range" for an object, typically arises during the transport of objects in the SAP system. This error can occur when there is an inconsistency or a missing naming range for the object being transported. Here’s a breakdown of the cause, potential solutions, and related information:

    Cause:

    1. Missing Naming Range: The object you are trying to transport does not have a defined naming range, which is necessary for the transport process.
    2. Inconsistent Object State: The object may be in an inconsistent state, possibly due to previous transport errors or manual changes.
    3. Transport Directory Issues: There may be issues with the transport directory or the transport request itself, leading to conflicts.

    Solution:

    1. Check Naming Ranges:

      • Ensure that the object has a valid naming range defined. You can check this in the relevant transaction (e.g., SE11 for database objects, SE80 for development objects).
      • If the naming range is missing, you may need to define it appropriately.
    2. Review Transport Request:

      • Check the transport request for any inconsistencies. You can do this using transaction SE09 or SE10.
      • If the transport request is corrupted, you may need to create a new transport request for the object.
    3. Recreate the Object:

      • If the object is in an inconsistent state, consider recreating it. This may involve deleting the object and creating it again, ensuring that all naming ranges are correctly set.
    4. Check for Dependencies:

      • Ensure that all dependent objects are included in the transport request. Sometimes, missing dependencies can lead to conflicts.
    5. Consult SAP Notes:

      • Check the SAP Support Portal for any relevant SAP Notes that may address this specific error. There may be patches or updates that resolve known issues related to this error.
