What causes this issue?

Based on the data of the financial transaction, the system first
identifies the hedging area version using the hedging classification
entered. In a second step, the system checks the settings of the hedging
area relevant for the automated designation process. In a third and
final step, the system identifies the exposure item.
However, in this case, the system was not able to derive all data
required to complete the automated designation process.

System Response

Automated designation of the financial transaction is not possible.

How to fix this error?

To resolve this issue, please do the following:
Check additional messages to get more detailed information.
Check whether the hedging classification assigned to the financial
transaction is valid at the contract date in the hedging area version.
Check whether the hedge accounting data in the relevant hedging area
version is complete for the company code and valuation area.
If the financial transaction is used to hedge a reference-based exposure
item, check whether the correct reference-based exposure item is
assigned in the financial transaction on the <LS>FX Hedge Management</>
tab. The automated designation process is started only if the assigned
exposure item belongs to the correct hedging area that is relevant for
hedge accounting.
If no error could be identified using these checks and all your data in
the system is correct, an internal error occurred. Please contact SAP in
this case.

Procedure for System Administrators

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
