Message text: OCS package &1 is a SPAM/SAINT update
SPAM/SAINT-Updates are not going to be imported in a normal OCS Package
queue. Therefore a queue calculation does not make sense for this
package type.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
If you want to import a SPAM/SAINT Update use the menu function
<LS>Support Package -> Import SPAM/SAINT-Update</> in the Support
Package Manager main screen.
For further informations refer to the online documentation of the

TN299
- OCS package &1 is a SPAM/SAINT update ?The SAP error message TN299 indicates that there is an issue related to the Software Update Manager (SUM) or the SPAM/SAINT update process. Specifically, it suggests that the OCS (Online Correction Support) package you are trying to process is a SPAM (Support Package Manager) or SAINT (SAP Add-On Installation Tool) update, which may not be handled correctly in the current context.
Cause:
- Incorrect Package Type: The package you are trying to import is recognized as a SPAM or SAINT update, which may not be compatible with the current system state or the method you are using to import it.
- Version Mismatch: The version of the SPAM/SAINT tool may not be compatible with the package you are trying to install.
- System Configuration: The system may not be properly configured to handle the update, or there may be missing prerequisites.
Solution:
- Check Package Type: Ensure that the package you are trying to import is indeed meant for the method you are using. If it is a SPAM/SAINT update, you should use the appropriate tool (SPAM or SAINT) to process it.
- Update SPAM/SAINT Tool: Make sure that your SPAM/SAINT tool is up to date. You can do this by downloading the latest version from the SAP Support Portal.
- Use Correct Procedure: If you are trying to apply a support package, use the SPAM transaction. If you are installing an add-on, use the SAINT transaction.
- Check for Prerequisites: Ensure that all prerequisites for the package are met. This may include having the correct version of the SAP kernel or other components.
- Review Logs: Check the logs for more detailed error messages that can provide additional context on what went wrong.
