  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message TK775 - Requests &1 and &2 are not the same type ?

The SAP error message TK775 indicates that there is a mismatch in the types of requests being compared or processed. This typically occurs in the context of transport requests, where two requests are expected to be of the same type (e.g., customizing requests, workbench requests, etc.), but they are not.

    Cause:

    1. Different Request Types: The most common cause of this error is that the two transport requests being compared or processed are of different types. For example, one might be a workbench request while the other is a customizing request.
    2. Incorrect Transport Configuration: There may be a configuration issue in the transport management system (TMS) that is causing the requests to be treated differently.
    3. Manual Changes: If there have been manual changes to the transport requests or if they were created in a way that does not conform to standard practices, this error can occur.

    Solution:

    1. Check Request Types: Verify the types of the transport requests involved. You can do this by checking the details of each request in the Transport Organizer (transaction SE09 or SE10). Ensure that both requests are of the same type.
    2. Use the Correct Request: If you are trying to merge or compare requests, ensure that you are using requests of the same type. If necessary, create a new request of the appropriate type.
    3. Review Transport Configuration: Check the transport configuration in TMS to ensure that everything is set up correctly. This includes checking the transport routes and the types of requests allowed in your landscape.
    4. Consult SAP Notes: Look for any relevant SAP Notes that might address this specific error. SAP frequently updates its knowledge base with solutions for common issues.
    5. Contact SAP Support: If the issue persists and you cannot identify the cause, consider reaching out to SAP support for assistance.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes: SE09 (Workbench Organizer), SE10 (Customizing Organizer) are used to manage transport requests.
