  • Message class: TK - Transport Organizer

  • Message number: 665

  • Message text: System settings do not allow transport of change requests

  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

The settings in your system do not allow change requests to be
transported from this system to other systems.
The change request &V1& is a customizing request for which a target
system or transportable change request is specified.

    System Response

    This message is a warning.

    How to fix this error?

You now have the opportunity to change your entries. Where possible, do
not enter a target system for customizing requests.
Do not use transportable change requests. A transportable change
request can be converted to a local change request in the Transport
    Organizer with the function <LS>Request/task</> -> <LS>Change type</>,
provided that this is allowed by the objects contained in the request.
If you are certain that you want to transport the change request &V1&,
    you can ignore this messsage.
    <ZH>Note</>
Transporting the change request may cause inconsistencies in the target
system, because logical dependencies may exist between the objects you
transport and other objects that are not in the target system or have
    an incorrect version there.
If you are unsure whether to transport the change request, contact the
    person coordinating the development work.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message TK665 - System settings do not allow transport of change requests ?

The SAP error message TK665, which states "System settings do not allow transport of change requests," typically occurs when there are restrictions in place that prevent the transport of change requests (TRs) from one system to another. This can happen in various scenarios, such as when the transport layer is not configured correctly, or when the system settings do not permit the transport of certain types of objects.

    Causes:

    1. Transport Layer Configuration: The transport layer may not be set up correctly, or the transport route may not be defined.
    2. System Settings: The system may be configured to restrict the transport of certain change requests, especially in development or quality assurance environments.
    3. Transport Directory Issues: There may be issues with the transport directory or the transport management system (TMS) configuration.
    4. User Authorizations: The user attempting to transport the change request may not have the necessary authorizations to perform the transport.
    5. Transport Request Status: The transport request may be in a status that does not allow it to be transported (e.g., it is not released).

    Solutions:

    1. Check Transport Layer: Ensure that the transport layer is correctly configured in the Transport Management System (TMS). You can do this by:

      • Going to transaction code STMS.
      • Checking the transport routes and layers.
      • Ensuring that the transport layer is assigned to the correct system.
    2. Review System Settings: Verify the system settings related to transport requests. This can include:

      • Checking the configuration in transaction SE03 (Transport Organizer Tools).
      • Ensuring that the system is not set to restrict transports for certain objects.
    3. User Authorizations: Make sure that the user has the necessary authorizations to transport change requests. This can be checked in transaction SU53 or by reviewing the user's roles and authorizations.

    4. Release Transport Request: If the transport request is not released, you can release it using transaction SE09 or SE10. Make sure that all objects in the transport request are correctly included and that the request is in a valid state.

    5. Check Transport Directory: Ensure that the transport directory is accessible and that there are no issues with the transport files. You can check the transport directory settings in the TMS configuration.

    6. Consult SAP Notes: If the issue persists, consult relevant SAP Notes or documentation for any specific fixes or updates related to this error message.
