  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

Objects in package &V2& cannot be edited in transportable Workbench
requests in the current system &V1&. The transport routes are
configured such that objects from package &V2& can only be edited in
    local Workbench requests.

    System Response

    The function terminates.

    How to fix this error?

    You have the following options:
If you want to transport objects in package &V2& into the target &V3&
once only, without changing the configuration of the transport routes,
then create a transport of copies in the extended view of the Transport
Organizer (Transaction <DS:TRAN.SE01>SE01</>). Go to the request
    overview and choose <LS>Request/task</> -> <LS>Object list</> ->
<LS>Include objects</> to include your objects in this transport of
    copies.
If you would like objects in package &V2& to be transported generally
into the target system &V3&, contact your transport administrator. In
this case, the configuration of the transport routes must be corrected
in the Transport Management System (TMS). For details, see the
documentation on the Transport Management System.

The SAP error message TK332 ("Only edit objects from package &2 in local requests") typically occurs when you attempt to modify or transport objects that are not part of the specified package in a local transport request. This is a safeguard mechanism in SAP to ensure that only objects belonging to the correct package are edited or transported, which helps maintain the integrity of the development environment.

    Cause:

    1. Incorrect Package Assignment: The object you are trying to edit or transport is not assigned to the package specified in the local request.
    2. Local Request Restrictions: Local transport requests are designed to only include objects from a specific package. If you try to include objects from a different package, you will encounter this error.
    3. Development Environment Issues: Sometimes, the development environment may not be set up correctly, leading to package-related issues.

    Solution:

    1. Check Package Assignment:

      • Verify that the object you are trying to edit is assigned to the correct package. You can do this by checking the object properties in the SAP GUI.
      • If the object is not assigned to the correct package, you may need to reassign it or create a new object in the correct package.
    2. Use the Correct Transport Request:

      • Ensure that you are using a transport request that corresponds to the package of the object you are trying to edit. If the object belongs to a different package, you may need to create a new transport request for that package.
    3. Create a New Local Request:

      • If you need to edit objects from multiple packages, consider creating separate local requests for each package.
    4. Consult with Your Basis Team:

      • If you are unsure about the package assignments or how to proceed, consult with your SAP Basis team or system administrator. They can provide guidance on how to handle transport requests and package assignments.

    Related Information:

    • Transport Management System (TMS): Understanding how the TMS works in SAP can help you manage transport requests and packages more effectively.
    • Package Management: Familiarize yourself with how packages are structured in your SAP environment, including how to create and manage packages.
    • SAP Notes: Check for any relevant SAP Notes that may address specific issues related to transport requests and package assignments.
